On August 13, WMNTMA members and guests gathered for the WMNTMA Annual Summer BBQ, a fundraising event benefiting the Larry Maier Memorial Education Fund. Larry Maier, a former two-term President of the WMNTMA Board of Directors, was committed to promoting awareness of career opportunities within the manufacturing industry among students. The fund was established following Larry’s passing to honor that commitment and further its mission.
Attendees were welcomed by Westfield River Brewing at their red barn and patio in Southwick, and North Elm Butcher Block provided a barbecue buffet that was enjoyed by all.
In addition, the Maier/Carlson Family awarded $1,000 scholarships to Dylan Huard (CTEC/LPVEC) and Jaylen Gonzalez (Chicopee Comp), both of whom are enrolled in engineering programs this fall.
